The owl was sacred to Athena, goddess of wisdom and has carried that feeling about it since ancient times. It has been seen by peoples everywhere as a guardian of the night , of darkness and mystery. To have "the sight of the owl" is to be able to access the mysterious, the secret and the sacred.
